Erin Condren Planner SALE

Friday, September 23, 2016

What the heck would I do without my Erin Condren Life Planner?! It has become the biggest hobby / necessity in my life. I have always loved being organized and crafty - and my planner lets me do just that. If you remember when you were younger you would cut up magazines and make big collages? Or create scrapbooks with your friends or family? Well, with my love for my ECLP and my Etsy account I have been able to combine my childhood favourite crafty activities in an adult organized way. It is an activity that lets my bring out my crafty side while totally relaxing me. It is what I look forward to all week, for Sunday to arrive and plan out the following week. I tend to take about 45 minutes to an hour to plan. But trust me, I am going slooow and taking my time. As I said, it is what I love to do! As of recently, I have been filming the majority of my Plan With Me's for my YouTube Channel.

I purchased my first EC Planner in May 2015, and since then there has been no going back. I was browsing YouTube in January 2015 and stumbled upon Andrea from Scribble Prints Co Plan With Me videos, and since that moment - I have become obsessed. Below I have attached quite a few of my favourite spreads (which you can also find on my Instagram) to give you some inspiration on how you can decorate your planner.

As you can see, I sometimes like to go for the "no white space" look as I try to get the most out of the kits as I possibly can. I will admit - sometimes I find it can be a little too much and I find myself removing some of the deco type stickers throughout the week if it is just becoming too cluttered compared to a functional planner which is what I need it to be.

I do buy all of my sticker kits from Etsy. If you are interested in some of my favourite shops, I would be happy to make another post listing all my faves. Recently I have been buying "mini kits" instead of "full kits" so I can use up some of my remaining stickers. I do tend to have quite a few stickers after I am done planning and I never want them to go to waste. So with mini kits I can use the glitter headers I have from Simply Ginger Co and Scribble Prints Co and use up some of my multi colour items, munchkins, and extra stickers from previous spreads. I also really love using half boxes from Libbie & Co.

If you are interested in your first Erin Condren planner I do have a $10.00 off referral code you use to save a little bit of money. The link is: https://www.erincondren.com/referral/invite/kyracrisp1107

They have so many planner covers to chose from and actual planners to chose from! There are vertical, horizontal, and hourly layouts. You can chose if you want a neutral theme, or a colourful theme. You can decide between the life planner (which is what I use, as shown above), a teacher planner, and a wedding planner! I purchased the wedding planner for my brother and his Fiance, and it looked so incredibly helpful - I did share a flip through of the planner on my YT channel.  Now for the sale....

Erin Condren is currently having a 25% off FRIENDS AND FAMILY Sale when you use the code "25FRIENDS". So with my $10.00 referral link plus the 25% off code your planner will come to $33.75! Incredible! Only thirty three dollars to help you organize your life for 2017. You can also add the remaining months of 2016 for an extra $5.00, which I would totally recommend to do if this is your first ECLP since this is currently such a great deal. Erin Condren sales don't happen often, and when they do I am always jumping with joy making my order.

Be sure to leave me a comment below on what planner you chose, and don't forget to use my referral code & the 25% off EC code! Everyone loves to save money. ;)

Tameing Those Curls!

Tuesday, June 28, 2016

My, oh my! I have been testing out the Curl Keeper range for a little over a month now and I am completely in love! I was so lucky to have the opportunity to receive these items to test out and my hair is just as thankful as my heart is.

I will give you a little back story on my hair. I have shoulder length brown wavy/curly/FRIZZY hair that no matter what hair products I try, the frizz is just out of this world. Enter Curl Keeper. I am not even exaggerating when I say my hair is easily 75% less frizzy using these products then when I don't. I will admit that some nights when I get out of the shower I am just so ready for bed that I don't apply the Curl Keeper Original, and my baby hairs hate me for that decision in the morning. If you have a similar hair type to me then you know that with the warm weather that we are (finally) experiencing, the frizz and the baby hairs go extra curly around your face and it isn't as cute as it sounds! My frizzy baby hairs create a little halo around my hair line and I can literally see it in the shadow when I'm walking! The Curl Keeper Original* is a water based product so it won't weigh your hair down and it won't have a product build up if you like to go a few days between washes, but it WILL totally tame your frizzy curly hair and make your hair so touch-ably soft. Another added bonus of this item is that it is actually water activated! So get your curly hair a little wet and BAM the CK Original is back in action fighting frizz! Once you have applied the product to your hair you want to try to stay pretty still for the following 15 minutes to let the product sink in. The less movement you have in those 15 minutes the more control you will have over your frizz!

I also have been applying the Leave In Conditioner* after each shower and it has kept my dry hair feeling so soft and hydrated. Again - those of us with curly/wavy hair tend to have drier hair and this product really has done wonders on my locks. I don't want you to think that just because I was sent these products that it has altered my opinion on them. I truly, TRULY (!!) love the Curl Keeper line. I feel as if in the last month+ my hair has become so much softer, easy to manage, and so much easier to brush. I love that it has become noticeably less frizzy and way waaaay smoother.

The Curl Keeper Styling Cream* is the item that I have used the least of, and that is just simply because I start work at 7am and the majority of the time my hair is up in a bun or a ponytail as I am recommended to have my hair up at my place of work. On my days off when I want to blow dry my hair and style it I have been testing out the Styling Cream* and I do enjoy it. I always find items like these a tad tougher to see results, but I do think that it holds my style (whether I have curled it or straightened it) an extra few days. It is also so light weight that it isn't weighing down my curls, making them feel crunchy, or making my hair feel like there is a ton of product in there. This is another product that will reactivate with water! Bonus!

Now for one of the items that every curly hair guy or gal totally needs - hair detangler. I will admit that I am totally sold on the Curl Keeper Slip 30 Second Detangler*, it feels as if I am spraying water in my hair, it is that thin of a mist! Especially with pool/beach season upon us our hair can get super tangled as we are splish splashing around in the water. I have been keeping my Curl Keeper Detangler with me in my beach bag along with my Tangle Teezer hair brush. Spray it in your hair from roots to ends, wait 30 seconds, and then brush! The combo of those two detangling masters has resulted in the easiest and least painful brushing for my knotted hair. It may not smell as fruity and fun as the L'Oreal Kids detangler that I used to use when I was a kid but Curl Keeper is Cruelty Free and formulated just for those with curly hair!

Make sure you visit Curl Keeper at Trade Secrets and check out their current lineup. You will love them just as much as I do to tame those curls.

*These products were sent to me for PR. That has not affected or altered my opinion on these products and I will only recommend products that I truly believe in.

My Cruelty Free Summer Foundation Routine

Wednesday, June 22, 2016

Nothing I love more then talking about face products! I don't know what it is but face products (foundations, blushes, highlights and bronzers) makes me so darn excited! I filmed this video this morning all about my summer foundation routine. Of course, all the products used are cruelty free. I mentioned it in the video and I will mention it here - I love animals way more then I love makeup so that is why I made the decision many months ago to go completely cruelty free. I'm still trying to use up a lot on my non CF products, and it takes ages to go through products so I'm really thinking about having a blog sale!

If you want to see my summer foundation routine featuring IT Cosmetics, BECCA Cosmetics, and many more brands, you can click HERE to go directly to the video!

Sephora VIB 15% Sale Recommendations - Cruelty Free

Saturday, April 9, 2016

The time has come that all beauty lovers wait for - Sephora VIB Sale. The April sale is always 15% off, so I usually save my big Sephora splurge trip for the November 20% off sale. There are so many amazing products in Sephora and it can be very overwhelming to decide what you want to spend your hard earned money on.

I've made a little Polyvore collage of makeup items & non-makeup items that I love and totally recommend you to look into for this sale!

MAKEUP ITEMS

Too Faced Born This Way Foundation - hands down one of the best foundations that is on the market. I have the shade Ivory (I should really pick up the shade Pearl since they released even lighter shades for us hella fair chickas). I have combination skin and it makes my skin look flawless, but I do need to blot within 3-4 hours. Also always a great idea to use the sale to buy a new foundation that you've been wanting to try! Too Faced is one of my favourite brands and I am all about TF at the moment!

NARS Blush in Deep Throat - I cannot seem to put this blush down at the moment! I love the gorgeous pink shade with a slight peach undertone. It looks amazing when you're pale, or when you have a tan! The texture of these blushes are like no other, and the pigmentation is insane! NARS blushes always last forever so they're definitely worth the price tag.

Too Faced Cocoa Powder Foundation - I picked this up last month and I don't know how I didn't have it in my collection sooner! Firstly, the smell of this is exactly like a cup of hot chocolate - but don't buy it just because of the smell ;). The finish is described as a rose petal matte finish, and on my combination skin it really does keep me matte for much longer then I expected! You can most definitely use this as your powder foundation, but I tend to set my foundation with this powder since I use a lot of really light coverage or CC creams, this just adds a touch more coverage while setting my foundation for all day wear.

BECCA Champagne Pop - If you want to be seen from outer space, this is your highlight! Jaclyn Hill made such an amazing peachy-champagne highlight that literally works on every.single.skintone! This is the only BECCA highlight I have tried but I have also heard amazing things about Opal and Moonstone if a peachy-champagne highlight isn't you cup of tea.

Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara - Are you really surprised that I have another TF Product? I didn't think so. This mascara is INSANE! It lengthens your lashes like crazy while giving you such fullness that gives you such a false lash effect. I'm in lurve.

BeautyBlender - Such an amazing tool and it is always a great idea to purchase a new one or buy a back up since you do have to replace these little sponges! I love how these sponges always make my foundation or CC creams look so flawless and provide a little extra glow. I also love how it makes my skin feel so much more hydrated, especially in the morning when I am still extra sleepy!

BECCA Beach Tint Shimmer Souffle in Fig/Opal - I love the unique texture of these blushes and how beautifully they apply. I apply them using my fingers, a brush, or even my beauty blender! The shade Fig/Opal is such a nice rosy-nude shade with the Opal highlight running through it. LOVE!

NON-MAKEUP ITEMS

First Aid Beauty Face Cleanser - This cleanser has changed my skin! FAB is such an amazing brand and this gentle cleanser has cleared up my skin more then any other blemish focused cleanser has. I cannot recommend this enough!

Lavanila Heathy Deodorant - I have been using this brand of natural deodorant exclusively for over a year now and I went from being a sweaty armpit gal (no shame) to now always having dry underarms! I was always using the strong clinical strength deodorant and was still having sweaty armpits and who knew switching to a natural aluminum free deodorant would CHANGE my underarms! Like I said I've been using this for over a year and there is no going back for me. I have tried multiple scents now and I really enjoy the Pure Vanilla (pictured) and the Lavender. I wasn't a big fan of Vanilla Snowberry or Vanilla Grapefruit, and grapefruit is my favourite smell of all time!

First Aid Beauty 5-in-1 Eye Cream - I love this eye cream! It really moisturizes my under eyes and changes the way your concealer will go on. It is fragrance free and you also get so much product in this tube that it will last you a minimum of 6 months (literally mimimum, there is so much product in this tube you will NOT run out fast!).

Marc Jacobs Daisy Blush Eau So Fresh - sad to say that Marc Jacobs is not cruelty free but his perfumes are my absolute favourite that I haven't been able to move on from them yet! I recently picked up this LE Spring/Summer edition and it was love at first scent. All perfumes are so expensive these days that this is the perfect time to save a little on your favorite scent!

Tangle Teezer - I have the most tangled hair you could ever even imagne and most brushes were always breaking my hair and it was getting so frizzy! Over the past year I have been using a Tangle Teezer and it glides through my knotty hair so smoothly and has been really saving my hair from breakage! I already placed my VIB sale order and I did have to add a new Tangle Teezer (I had mine for a year in February and I figured it was time to buy a new one since the little pins were getting all bent) and I also added a few other of the items in this post for backups!

Cruelty Free Makeup Favourites

Tuesday, March 29, 2016

It has been a hot minute since I posted a blog post! I have been really focusing on my YouTube channel lately and have been trying to post there as often as I can!

As I mentioned in my last blogpost (which was soooo long ago!) I am transitioning to a completely cruelty free makeup collection! I have been really thinking I am going to possibly do a blog sale on the items that I won't be using anymore because they are still in really good condition! Plus, I may have one (aka a bunch) too many blushes...whoops!

I just posted a video talking about a ton of my favourite items that are cruelty free. I also really wanted to mention Logical Harmony and Cruelty Free Kitty - as those two websites are amazing for finding new cruelty free items to replaced any makeup items that are not CF.

If you are interested in what CF products I love, I would really love it if you would check out my new video by clicking HERE.

I will say I do have quite the theme with what brands I love... Too Faced has totally stolen my heart recently and I am always stalking the TF page on Sephora! I was recently in Florida and I had my first ever Ulta experience and I was glued to the BECCA, Too Faced, and IT Cosmetics counters! Such amazing CF brands!

If you are Canadian as well and can't find where to find IT Cosmetics - I highly suggest checking out The Shopping Channel because they have really great deals where you can get a brush and the CC+ Cream for a steal! Also they have a brush & bronzer duo, and a brush & blush duo! I wanted to include the CC+ Cream in this video, but I filmed it prior to going to Florida and it was my first time using it on this filming day - two weeks later I am obsessed with the CC+ Cream! I wish I had gotten it in a shade darker too for summer, so I might be making another TSC order very soon!

I hope you enjoy the video, and if you like my videos I would really appreciate it if you decided to stick around by subscribing!

Transitioning To Cruelty Free

Sunday, January 10, 2016

Over the past 6 months I have been doing a lot of researching and learning a lot about what goes on behind the scenes of the cosmetic and beauty industry. It had brought me to tears thinking of what is happening to these adorable little bunnies, guinea pigs, mice, rats, dogs, cats, birds, and sadly many more animals. These animals are forced to swallow or inhale the tested substance as well as have chemicals burn their skin and eyes. It is incredibly heartbreaking and truly does bring me to tears.

Two of my favourite websites for Cruelty Free cosmetics and skincare are: Logical Harmony & Cruelty Free Kitty. Both websites have a lot of information and share a ton of incredible products that are all cruelty free and Logical Harmony is a complete Vegan blog (She also has an really amazing YouTube that I am constantly watching and rewatching!)

I wanted to share with you some of the brands sold at our favourite makeup store, Sephora, that are 100% cruelty free. There are more then you would think, I was SO happy to hear that I can continue to buy some of my absolute favourite brands, and on the other side of the spectrum have been very disappointed that there are many brands and products I no longer want to support.

CRUELTY FREE BRANDS SOLD AT SEPHORA: You can go directly to their page to shop at Sephora by clicking on their name!
Above are all of the brands listed on the Canadian Sephora website that are Cruelty Free - there may be more on the US website! If I have forgotten any or made a mistake, please do leave me a comment and I will try to fix it as quickly as possible.

Now, I titled this post "Transitioning to Cruelty Free" because I do have products from brands such as Bobbi Brown (my HG Foundation!), MAC, and Benefit that I do use and love. When it comes to these brands and products - I love animals more then I love makeup. What I am planning on doing is finishing up these products and then not repurchasing them, as much as I love the Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation!

What are your favourite Cruelty Free brands and products? Thank you for reading my blog post!
